Deployment affects more than where a login page is hosted. It determines who maintains the environment, how changes are introduced, and which operating costs your team needs to plan for. Caleto presents three options for that conversation: Caleto Cloud, Dedicated Cloud, and Self-Managed. You can create a Caleto Cloud account to get started. Request pricing to agree subscription, Self-Managed, or Dedicated Cloud scope with your team.
Caleto Cloud: a managed subscription
Caleto Cloud is intended for individuals and teams who want browser access without managing the application’s servers. It is a shared cloud service operated by Caleto, with updates and platform maintenance included in the proposed service.
Use this conversation to confirm users, AI usage, storage, access controls, and support. A managed service still needs clear agreement about how your organization will administer its workspace and handle its documents.
Dedicated Cloud: a dedicated environment operated for you
Dedicated Cloud is intended for organizations that want a dedicated Caleto environment with hosting and updates managed by Caleto. Capacity, monitoring, backups, maintenance, onboarding, and support are scoped in the quote.
Ask what is dedicated, which hosting region is proposed, how changes are scheduled, and what recovery and support commitments can be agreed. The word dedicated should lead to a concrete architecture and service description.
Self-Managed: your infrastructure and operating team
Self-Managed is intended for organizations that want to deploy Caleto in their own cloud or on their own servers. Your team manages infrastructure and backups. Software updates, product support, and any setup or migration assistance are agreed with Caleto.
Include infrastructure and AI-provider charges in your budget. Confirm model connections and data flows separately; running the application yourself does not automatically mean every AI request stays inside the same environment.
AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises
Deploy Caleto on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), or on-premises infrastructure with Self-Managed. Dedicated Cloud provides a private environment operated by Caleto. Infrastructure sizing, region, networking, and operating responsibilities are agreed for your deployment.
Proprietary and private model choices
Choose proprietary models such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini, or private models served through Ollama and compatible endpoints. Supported provider connections include Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI in Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Foundry), and Gemini on Google Vertex AI.
Your deployment operator configures provider access and available models. Model compatibility, regional availability, usage limits, and provider charges are confirmed during setup. Private hosting does not by itself make every AI or OCR request local; model and document-processing data flows are agreed separately.
Compare the full operating picture
Use the same requirements for all three options. A comparison is more useful when it covers the work around the software as well as the software itself:
People: users, workspace administrators, and the team responsible for operations.
Usage: document volumes, storage, AI requests, and peak workloads.
Connections: the integrations you need and their setup or validation requirements.
Service: onboarding, maintenance, support hours, and recovery expectations.
Exit: data export, retention, and the responsibilities at the end of the service.
Do not assume identical commercial allowances across deployment models. Ask for inclusions, exclusions, limits, and additional charges to be written into the proposal.
Start with the constraint you cannot change
If your organization requires its own infrastructure, start with Self-Managed and assess the operating effort. If it needs a dedicated environment but wants the vendor to operate it, discuss Dedicated Cloud. If server management is not part of your team’s work, start by assessing Caleto Cloud.
These are starting points for a deployment discussion. Final availability, regions, features, and service commitments are confirmed in your proposal. See the pricing page for the current product suite and request a demo around your requirements.
